March Madness

Mother Nature has provided lots of excitement for March.  Hoping the rest of the month is a bit more settled.  Spring does begin on Monday.  2nd graders have been working incredibly hard.  We just completed The Legend of the Bluebonnet.  We shared our learning by writing paragraphs about the lessons we learned.  I was overwhelmed with all they learned and the quality of their writing.  We celebrated with bluebonnet artwork, so beautiful.
We continued learning about landforms by exploring in Science Lab where rivers go and how sand gets to the beach.
Today we extended our study of Native Americans in the west with an incredible presentation by Erin and Mirabai.  They taught us about the Stockbridge Munsee people who lived in and around Williamstown.  Through a series of clever activities we were able to understand some of the challenges these Native Americans faced.  Did you know that Sand Springs is an important historical site of the Mohicans?  Thanks to Norbu and his mom.
