Building tall towers and strong towers during our Mystery Science lesson was a highlight this week. We also had a blast square dancing with Terry Alaberry at our Friday assembly.
Thank you to all our 2nd grade families who tested and took care of the children this week. By Friday we were down to just 4 who enjoyed exploring the property of meltability in Science. We also did a winter craft and read some biographies about remarkable Americans.
This week we began a new unit in Science called material Magic. We explored the properties of absobtion, softness and stiffness to create hats that would protect us from the sun. 2nd grade engineers came up with some clever ideas.
The week before break was a whirlwind. Tricia Markie brought 5 amazing raptors to visit. They were stunning. So many wide eyed children got to experience the wonder of nature up close.
