Mrs. Benn - 2022-2023

 We have a couple of activities coming up that parents are invited to.   READ THE DAY AWAY:  December 23rd     Friends and family can drop in to read to us.  Children can bring a stuffy and blanket and favorite books. ____________________________________________________________________________________ CALDECOTT CELEBRATION - January 26th time TBA probably late morning    Our class will try to predict this year's winner of the Caldecott Medal for best illustrated children's book.  We will share our work and try to convince you to vote for our favorites.

We dove into our owl study this week, learning about the amazing anatomy of owls. Ms. Brill showed us a magnificent stuffed great horned owl and we watched a short video about owls' silent wings. The grand finale was a directed drawing activity.

    Science Lab was a BLAST this week.  Students learned about the feeding habits of different kinds of birds.  They used that information to engineer bird feeder prototypes that would successfully feed a specific bird.
